Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Counsel with strong Human Resources expertise to play a critical role in managing legal compliance, employee relations, and organisational HR processes. This role uniquely blends legal oversight with strategic and operational HR leadership to ensure compliant, efficient, and people-centric business operations. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to leadership, ensuring all HR practices align with Nepalese labour laws while fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting business growth— particularly within a fast-paced outsourcing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & Compliance Leadership.
- Ensure full compliance with Nepalese labour laws, SSF regulations, taxation, and statutory requirements.
- Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, HR policies, vendor agreements, and client-related documentation.
- Advise leadership on legal risks, employment matters, and regulatory obligations.
- Handle compliance audits, regulatory reporting, and liaise with government authorities.
- Manage legal aspects of employee disputes, disciplinary actions, terminations, and grievances.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as required
- Oversee end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with legal standards and business needs.
- Support leadership in organisational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
- Drive HR strategies that align with the company’s outsourcing and growth model.
- Lead high-volume recruitment and onboarding strategies for a dynamic workforce.
- Implement training, learning, and leadership development programs.
- Establish succession planning frameworks and talent pipelines.
- Strengthen employer branding to attract and retain top talent.
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes with a legally sound approach.
- Foster an inclusive, ethical, and high-performance workplace culture.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
- Ensure strong internal communication and employee engagement.
- Design and manage performance appraisal systems and employee evaluation frameworks.
- Ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance in performance management practices.
- Continuously review and update HR policies in line with legal changes and industry standards.
- Support the development of competitive compensation and benefits structures.
- Ensure compliance in payroll, SSF contributions, and statutory benefits.
- Monitor HR processes to ensure cost optimisation and regulatory adherence.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data protection standards.
