Job Description

Sterling Wells Nepal is the operational hub of a UK-based group of chartered certified accountancy firms and fintech companies, including UK Property Accountants, Sterling & Wells, Crane & Partners, FigsFlow, RentalBux, Taxule, and PropertySPV. We support thousands of clients across 50+ countries and oversee accounting for $8B+ in assets.

We are in an active phase of multi-product development, building SaaS platforms that serve accounting and advisory firms across the UK, US & other European market. To keep pace with our product roadmap and delivery commitments, we are looking for a hands-on Project Manager who can bring structure, accountability, and momentum to our engineering teams.

What You'll Own

  • Sprint Planning & Execution: Design, own, and run sprint cycles across multiple concurrent product development projects in close collaboration with business stakeholders and developers. Define scope, assign tasks, set timelines, and drive each sprint to completion.
  • Azure DevOps Management: Take full ownership of the project management environment in Azure DevOps — maintaining a clean, up-to-date board with accurate task status, priorities, assignments, and delivery milestones at all times.
  • User Story Creation: Work with the business team and product leads to break down features and requirements into well-structured, developer-ready user stories with clear acceptance criteria, effort estimates, and dependency mapping.
  • Delivery Accountability: Hold developers and contributors to committed delivery dates. Identify blockers early, escalate promptly, and drive resolution — ensuring nothing slips without a documented reason and a recovery plan.
  • Senior Management Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular status reports to senior management covering delivery progress, sprint velocity, timeline gaps, risks, and open issues. Reports must be clear, factual, and actionable.
  • Individual Performance Visibility: Track and report on each team member's contribution against sprint commitments. Work closely with senior management to surface performance trends, flag underperformance, and support improvement planning.
  • Proactive Communication: Anticipate and proactively inform senior management of upcoming deadlines, dependency risks, scope changes, and team capacity issues — before they become problems. Be the early-warning system for the leadership team.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Serve as the connective tissue between the business team, product leads, and developers — ensuring everyone has the context, clarity, and direction they need to execute without friction.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate project delivery processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements that increase team throughput and reduce rework or miscommunication.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Maintain accurate project documentation including sprint records, decision logs, risk registers, and retrospective notes — ensuring institutional knowledge is captured and accessible.

What We Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a Project Manager role within a software or SaaS product development environment.
  • Hands-on, working knowledge of Azure DevOps — boards, backlogs, pipelines, and reporting. This is non-negotiable.
  • Proven experience running Agile / Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Strong instinct for accountability — you follow up, you push, and you do not let tasks go silent.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; able to produce crisp, management-ready status reports.
  • High attention to detail: you notice when things are off before anyone else does.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience managing product development projects in a fintech, SaaS, or professional services technology business.
  • Familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Notion, or Linear alongside Azure DevOps.
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts — APIs, front-end vs back-end, release cycles — to hold credible conversations with developers.
  • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate documentation, reporting, and planning tasks.

What Makes This Role Different

  • You will own accountability across multiple SaaS products
  • You will have direct access to senior leadership and a real mandate to drive accountability at every level of the team.
  • Your work directly shapes the speed and quality with which our products reach users — the impact is immediate and measurable.
  • You will operate at the intersection of product strategy and engineering execution, with exposure to product vision, business priorities, and technical delivery all at once.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary package based on experience and qualification.
  • International working environment with exposure to a UK-facing multi-product technology group.
  • Access to Sterling Wells Academy and structured development programmes.
  • At least one month of total working time dedicated to training and development annually.
  • Clear growth trajectory as the group's product portfolio continues to scale.
  • Five-day working week, with Saturday and Sunday off.
  • Daily office lunch paid annual leave, and sick leave.
  • Accident and medical insurance coverage.
  • Regular team-building activities and cultural events.

If you are a project manager who leads from the front — owns delivery, drives accountability, and keeps senior teams informed before they need to ask — this is your role.
