Team members join a growing, customer-centric company that values service quality, technological advancement, and professional development.Role Description The Fiber Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu, responsible for overseeing the planning, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s fiber optic network. This role manages field teams and contractors, coordinates daily fiber installation and repair activities, and ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and within quality standards. The Fiber Manager monitors network performance, responds to outages, and implements preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and service interruptions. Daily tasks include route planning, resource allocation, site inspections, and close collaboration with network operations, customer support, and sales teams to support service delivery and expansions. The role also requires preparing reports, maintaining documentation, enforcing health and safety compliance, and supporting continuous improvement of fiber processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic networks, including FTTH/GPON technologies, fiber routing, splicing, and network maintenance.
- Experience managing field teams or technical staff, with skills in task delegation, performance monitoring, and team development.
- Ability to plan and execute fiber rollout projects, including site surveys, resource planning, scheduling, and vendor or contractor coordination.
- Technical problem-solving abilities for diagnosing and resolving network issues, outages, and service degradation in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with network design tools, documentation practices, and basic use of NMS or related monitoring systems is preferred.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with internal departments, external partners, and customers as needed.
- Commitment to safety standards, with understanding of field safety practices and regulatory or compliance requirements related to network infrastructure.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Previous experience in an ISP, telecom, or network infrastructure environment in a supervisory or lead role is highly beneficial.
