Role Description The UK Counselor will provide guidance to prospective students interested in studying in the United Kingdom, helping them understand academic options, admission requirements, and application timelines. This full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu involves conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing student profiles, and recommending suitable courses and institutions. The counselor will support students with application preparation, documentation, statement of purpose guidance, and coordination with admissions teams and partner institutions. Daily responsibilities include explaining scholarship and funding options, guiding students through visa requirements and procedures, and updating them on changes in UK education policies. The role also includes maintaining accurate student records, participating in education fairs and outreach events, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a smooth, ethical, and student-centered counseling process.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to assess student profiles and provide clear, personalized guidance for UK study options.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including confident spoken and written English, active listening, and the ability to explain complex processes in simple terms.
- Knowledge of UK higher education systems, institutions, courses, admission requirements, and student visa procedures, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, deadlines, and documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer service and relationship-building skills to maintain trust with students, families, and partner institutions in a professional and ethical manner.
- Basic computer proficiency, including use of office productivity tools, CRM or student management systems, email, and online meeting platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field; prior experience in education consultancy, student counseling, or international admissions is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kathmandu, collaborate within a team, and occasionally support events, seminars, and education fairs as required.
