About the Job

Title: Junior Front-End Developer

Department: TaxMD™

Location: Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

You will work on the Django-based tax calculation engine that powers our core tax processing

pipeline. You will write clean, well-tested Python code under the guidance of senior engineers,

contribute to API development, and gradually take ownership of bounded-context features.

This is not a CRUD-app role. You will be working inside a domain-heavy codebase with real

financial logic, async task processing, and AI integrations. We expect you to learn fast and ask

sharp questions.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain Django REST Framework API endpoints following established patterns

- Write service-layer business logic in Python

- Write pytest unit and integration tests for all code you ship

- Work with PostgreSQL, including writing clean ORM queries

- Debug Celery async task failures and contribute to task improvements

- Participate in code reviews and actively apply feedback

- Follow project conventions strictly (service layer, no fat views, constants from utils)

Required Skills

- Python 3.10+ with strong fundamentals (typing, comprehensions, exceptions, dataclasses)

- Django ORM and basic DRF (serializers, views, routers)

- PostgreSQL - writes clean queries, understands indexing basics

- Git workflow - branching, commits, pull requests

- Ability to read and understand existing code before writing new code

- Writes tests without being asked to

Nice to Have

- Celery + Redis/RabbitMQ experience

- AWS basics (S3, IAM)

- Understanding of REST API design principles

- Any experience with financial, accounting, or tax domain software

What You Will Not Be Doing

- Owning product decisions solo

- Deploying to production unsupervised on day one

- Working without mentorship or context
