Position Summary

Blood Hospital is seeking a highly competent, disciplined, and proactive Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and strengthen the hospital’s daily operations, administration, interdepartmental coordination, and strategic execution.

The ideal candidate must possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with doctors, consultants, management teams, and operational staff. The role requires a professional who can maintain high operational standards, ensure organizational discipline, and efficiently manage hospital workflows in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Candidates with prior military, ex-service, or defense leadership backgrounds will be given priority consideration due to the strong discipline, leadership, and operational management skills required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across clinical, nursing, laboratory, and support functions
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and seamless coordination across all hospital services
  • Implement and continuously improve operational policies, SOPs, and clinical workflows
  • Translate the hospital strategy into effective operational execution
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, clinical standards, and accreditation requirements
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality of care, and service excellence
  • Lead hospital-wide quality improvement, infection control, and risk management initiatives
  • Manage operational budgets, cost control, and resource optimization in coordination with finance
  • Strengthen revenue cycle efficiency while supporting accessible and quality care delivery. Coordinate closely with medical, laboratory, and administrative teams for optimal resource use
  • Act as the primary communication link between the CEO, clinical teams, and department heads
  • Ensure clear, timely, and effective internal and external communication with stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with regulators, insurers, and partner organizations
  • Lead and mentor senior management and departmental heads
  • Promote a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered work culture
  • Oversee workforce planning and employee engagement in coordination with HR
  • Support the development of specialized services and infrastructure expansion
  • Improve patient experience and ensure timely resolution of operational issues
  • Participate in strategic planning and executive decision-making with CEO and board
