Job Description

Shankar Associates, Chartered Accountants (SACA) is looking for a dynamic and highly skilled Audit Manager to join our dynamic team in our Nepal based Audit, Tax and Consulting wing. We are an audit, tax, and consulting firm affiliated with one of the Top 20 Accounting Alliance based in Kathmandu, Nepal.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • CA with prior experience in Audit & Assurance. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial or supervisory role. 
  • Proven experience in audit and assurance engagements including statutory audits, internal audits, project audits and other assurance engagements with demonstrated practical knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards, Auditing Standards, Taxation & other relevant laws, and other related technical matters. 
  • Flexible and willing to travel where required during the audit engagements 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Power Query), Google Sheets (advanced) and presentation skills (PowerPoint, G-slides).  
  • Experience in CAAT tools and audit management software is preferable, though not essential 
  • Must demonstrate the will to drive self & team and resilience to deliver in a pressurized environment. 
  • Must demonstrate serious professionalism and willingness to deliver impact within the firm to earn trust and respect amongst senior leadership and the team. 
  • Experience in Forensic Accounting & Transfer Pricing  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • A strong ethic, ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 


Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Managing and leading audit and assurance engagements primarily for Nepal-based clients, ensuring compliance with applicable local laws, regulations, and reporting standards. 
  • Planning and leading execution of field audit/assurance works, project management of all aspects of audit and assurance works including audit timelines, team briefings & supervision and client deliverables/reporting across portfolio of clients under close coordination with senior management team.  
  • Leading field audit work includes mentoring and coaching junior audit associates and trainees. 
  • Assist senior partners in budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of engagements, allocating resources for audit assignments, focusing on optimizing profitability, and enhancing audit efficiency/quality. 
  • Identify gaps in and work towards fulfilling those gaps in audit resource development, formulating professional skills development and education plans for audit/assurance team members to further enhance audit quality commitment within the firm. 
  • Identifying, researching, and helping to resolve complex audit/assurance work issues. 
  • Carry out any other duties as prescribed by the senior management team. 
  • Assist in timely completion of each audit/assurance assignments as per the audit plan with high quality deliverables 
  • Communicate at the appropriate time the results of audit work, including reports to Senior Management Team on problems encountered in carrying out audit assignments 
  • Liaising with clients during the field audit and acting as a focal point for the engagements
