Due to company growth, we are actively seeking qualified "Transmission Line Engineer" to join our team in Nepal for our energy service clients located in USA. As a transmission line engineer, you will be tasked with detailed engineering and design for overhead transmission lines. Work will include project requirement assessment, line route studies, structure spotting & scheduling, structure analysis using PLS-CADD & PLS-POLE, develop plan & profile drawings, isometric drawings, structure analysis report, sag-tension report and stringing chart.

Role Expectations

  • Perform detailed engineering and design for overhead transmission line.
  • Conduct line routing studies, analyze structure spotting, and assess design impacts using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
  • Develop and review plan & profile drawings, structure line diagram, structure loading trees, foundation design and conductor/insulator specifications.
  • Prepare design calculations and engineering report.
  • Participate in design reviews, quality checks and safety evaluations.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure design complies with company standards, industry codes and client requirements.
  • Communicate with teams regarding technical issues, project progress and deliverables.
  • Ensure self-check of engineer designs.
  • Effective written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and willingness to learn.
  • Present project challenges, findings, and learnings to the team.
  • Actively participates in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are the top priorities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field (Civil/Electrical).
  • 2-4 years of experience in transmission line design.
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE software.
  • Good command over AutoCAD is required.
  • Well versed with transmission line design philosophy.
  • Must possess the basics of line routing, BoQ preparation & drafting related works in transmission line design.
  • Solid understanding of NESC, ASCE, IEEE standards and utility engineering practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Minimum 2 transmission line design project involvement is preferred.
