Job Description

Software Product Designer

About the role

We’re looking for a product designer who can own UI/UX end-to-end for a software product: discovery, flows, interaction design, visual design, and shipped outcomes. You’ll partner closely with product and engineering to turn messy problems into clear, usable experiences—and you’ll sweat the details without losing the big picture.

This role is for someone who can think like a product person, design like a craftsperson, and collaborate like an engineer’s favorite teammate.

What you’ll do

• Own design workstreams from idea → prototype → build → launch → iteration.

• Translate product goals and user needs into user flows, IA, wireframes, and polished UI.

• Run lightweight discovery: user interviews, usability tests, surveys, or product data reviews.

• Design interaction patterns for complex workflows (not just marketing pages).

• Create and maintain components in a design system (and improve it when it’s missing pieces).

• Collaborate daily with product managers and engineers to scope, trade off, and ship.

• Write/shape microcopy and UX content where it improves clarity and conversion.

• QA your designs in production: ensure fit/finish, accessibility, and consistency.

• Contribute to product strategy by identifying UX risks and opportunities early.

Requirements

• 3+ years designing software products (web, mobile, or both).

• Strong foundation in UI + UX: flows, interaction design, hierarchy, typography, layout, and visual polish.

• Proven ability to design for real-world constraints (edge cases, permissions, error states, empty states, loading states).

• Experience working closely with engineering in an iterative environment (Agile or similar).

• Proficiency with Figma (components, variants, auto layout, prototypes).

• Working knowledge of accessibility (WCAG basics) and inclusive design.

• A portfolio showing shipped work and how you think (trade-offs, iterations, outcomes).
