Summary

Cedar Gate Services is looking for a Software Development Engineer 2 to join our team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that support population health management initiatives.

As a member of a collaborative development team, the Software Development Engineer will create well-structured, testable, and efficient Java-based applications. The engineer will work under the guidance of the Manager of the Population Health team to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable software that meets both business and technical requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan and analyze software requirements and define appropriate solutions
  • Provide technical guidance in the planning and execution of assigned projects
  • Develop complete software solutions or specific components using Java, Groovy, and Grails
  • Write industry standard code following best practices
  • Perform unit testing to ensure software quality and reliability
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain coding standards and improve code quality
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and fix software defects in a timely manner
  • Produce and review technical documentation
  • Guide and mentor junior software engineers
  • Continuously improve software development processes and practices
  • Perform other related tasks as necessary

Required Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of well-known design patterns
  • Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Process-oriented approach
  • Sound knowledge of any one DBMS
  • Strong communication skills
