Job Description:

The Product Manager for TaxMD™ owns the end-to-end product strategy, execution, and delivery of the TaxMD™ platform. This role is responsible for translating tax and compliance requirements into scalable, user-friendly product solutions, ensuring high-quality releases, data-driven decision-making, and on-time launches. The Product Manager works cross-functionally with engineering, design, tax, sales, and marketing teams to drive product excellence, business impact, and long-term platform growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy and Alignment

• Define and maintain product strategy aligned with company OKRs, client KPIs, and revenue or efficiency objectives.
• Ensure every feature, initiative, and sprint has clear strategic justification and measurable impact.
• Own and maintain the product roadmap with clear prioritization and dependencies.

2. Planning and Execution

• Proactively plan, lead, and execute product initiatives, releases, and ongoing improvements.
• Own end-to-end execution, ensuring timely delivery and closure of all initiatives.
• Drive follow-through across teams and ensure commitments are met.

3. Quality and Delivery Excellence

• Ensure all product deliverables are accurate, complete, and thoroughly reviewed before submission or release.
• Maintain high standards for documentation, specifications, and execution quality.
• Prevent avoidable errors through structured reviews and quality checks.

4. End-to-End Product Ownership

• Own the full product lifecycle, including requirements, prioritization, development coordination, QA readiness, release, and post-launch monitoring.
• Ensure nothing falls through gaps across handoffs, execution, or follow-ups.
• Maintain accountability for delivery timelines and outcomes.

5. UX/UI Leadership 

• Lead UX and UI quality in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
• Review and validate user journeys, flows, and design consistency.
• Co-create mockups and ensure usability, clarity, and visual consistency across the product.
• Present designs for final approval and ensure high-quality implementation.

6. Market and Competitive Intelligence

• Conduct ongoing market research and customer analysis.
• Deliver monthly competitor analysis, feature benchmarking, and opportunity assessments.
• Translate market insights into clear product priorities and roadmap decisions.

7. Data-Driven Product Management

• Define and track product KPIs including usage, adoption, retention, and ROI.
• Build and maintain dashboards to monitor performance across product modules.
• Provide regular insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

8. Cross-Functional Leadership

• Lead collaboration across engineering, design, QA, marketing, and sales.
• Run structured weekly syncs with clear agendas, decisions, and action items.
• Identify and resolve blockers early to maintain momentum and alignment.

9. Product Launch and Go-To-Market

• Own product launch planning and execution in partnership with marketing and sales.
• Ensure readiness across product, engineering, QA, support, and GTM teams.
• Manage risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication throughout launch cycles.

10. Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Proactively propose automation, AI-driven enhancements, analytics improvements, and process optimizations.
• Drive initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, and long-term competitive advantage.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational maturity.

11. Process and Operational Excellence

• Establish and maintain repeatable product management processes, templates, and frameworks.
• Improve planning, prioritization, and execution workflows across the product organization.
• Raise overall operational standards and maturity.

12. Culture, Ownership, and Leadership

• Drive ownership, accountability, and high performance within cross-functional teams.
• Coach and mentor team members to raise quality and execution standards.
• Lead retrospectives and improvement initiatives to strengthen team effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in product management or technical product roles.
• Proven experience owning products end-to-end, from concept to launch and optimization.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on scalable, cloud-based systems.
• Understanding of backend systems, APIs, and software quality practices.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered products, including RAG systems, semantic search, embeddings, and prompt engineering.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and multi-environment deployments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize, define KPIs, and drive product outcomes.
