Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and technically sound Technical Support specialist to join our HRMS (Human Resource Management System) application team. The ideal candidate will support users by resolving application issues, escalating bugs, coordinating with development, validating fixes, and ensuring smooth handover to the general support team. This role requires foundational knowledge in SQL, server operations, network basics, and effective documentation and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to HRMS application users, addressing issues related to user interface, functionality, performance, and data discrepancies.
  • Perform basic SQL queries to investigate data-related issues or validate user-reported problems.
  • Analyze issues and document reproducible bugs with clear steps, screenshots/logs, and environment details.
  • Escalate verified bugs to the development team with complete technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team during the debugging and patching process.
  • Conduct bug fix verification and validation testing in staging or pre-prod environments.
  • Coordinate and ensure smooth transition of resolved issues to the general support/helpdesk team.
  • Lead or assist in internal presentations of release notes and fixes to cross-functional support teams.
  • Work with infrastructure teams to troubleshoot basic server or network-level issues affecting application performance.
  • Maintain accurate issue logs, resolution timelines, and knowledge base entries.
  • Assist in UAT support and deployment testing during new releases or patch rollouts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in technical/application support (preferably HRMS or ERP systems).
  • Basic understanding of MS SQL (select, join, update queries).
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, issue tracking, and support documentation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for working with end users and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to replicate and analyze issues effectively.
  • Team-oriented, organized, and comfortable in a cross-functional coordination role.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Prior experience with HRMS or payroll systems.
  • Exposure to bug tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of support SLA management and escalation procedures.
  • Ability to deliver training or brief presentations to internal teams.
