About the Organization

Kapilvastu Integrated Development Services (KIDS) is a non-governmental, non- profit, and non-political organization established on 31 August 2005 in Kapilvastu District, Nepal. The organization is duly registered with the District Administration Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) since 20 March 2007. 

KIDS was founded by committed community members with the vision of fostering a Healthy, inclusive and prosperous society with full of peace and equal justice. Since its establishment, the organization has worked to improve the quality of life of vulnerable
and marginalized communities through inclusive, community-driven, and sustainable development interventions.

KIDS implements development and humanitarian programs across Lumbini Province in partnership with government agencies, national and international NGOs, UN agencies, donor organizations, and local communities. Its core thematic areas include Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Food Security and Livelihoods, Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Education, and Community Empowerment.

farmers, producer groups, and agri-entrepreneurs under the SaBaS Project. The position will promote climate-smart agriculture, improve productivity, strengthen market-oriented farming practices, farmer field school and support enterprise development through regular technical guidance, training, monitoring, and coordination with local stakeholders.

This reflects the typical role of JTAs in Nepal’s agriculture and livelihood projects. 

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

•  Involvement in assessing livelihood opportunities through agriculture and assessing their feasibility.
• Provide technical advisory services to farmers and producer groups on climate-resilient agriculture practices.
• Conduct agriculture related training, farmer field school, demonstrations plots, develop model farms, field visits, and technical coaching.
• Support the distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and tools to beneficiaries.
• Support the establishment and strengthening of farmer groups, cooperatives, and agri-enterprises.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor crop performance and provide timely recommendations.
• Assist in implementing project activities related to enterprise development, value chains, and market linkages.
• Collect field data, maintain records, and prepare monthly progress reports.
• Monitor crop performance, identify production constraints, and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Coordinate with local governments, agriculture offices, cooperatives, and other stakeholders.
• Support in linking farmers to markets, input suppliers, and financial institutions.
• Ensure gender equality, social inclusion (GESI), and environmental sustainability are integrated into project activities.
• Perform other project-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Prepare periodic reports and share key findings with the Livelihood Coordinator.
• Represent the organization in community and palika level in agriculture related meetings and events.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma/TSLC /JTA in Agriculture (Plant Science) from a recognized institution.
• At least 2 years of experience in agriculture extension, community mobilization, or livelihood projects.
• Good knowledge of vegetable production, integrated pest management (IPM), climate-smart agriculture, and farmer training.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in Nepali; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
• Valid two-wheeler driving license with willingness to travel extensively within Kapilvastu is preferred.
