Job Summary
The HR Officer will support Ace Higher Secondary School with end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day employee relations. This role is ideal for a candidate with at least 1+ year of HR experience who can help maintain accurate HR records and ensure smooth staffing for academic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate talent acquisition activities including screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and maintaining candidate status updates.
- Assist with onboarding processes for new teachers and staff, including document collection, orientation checklists, and probation follow-up.
- Maintain and update employee records (personal files, contracts, attendance-related HR documents, and leave histories) with strict confidentiality.
- Support employee relations by addressing first-level HR queries, escalating issues appropriately, and documenting case outcomes.
- Assist with performance management support tasks such as preparing HR documentation and tracking required reviews within school timelines.
- Ensure HR documentation complies with school policies and relevant labor practices, supporting policy implementation as needed.
- Track HR reports and assist leadership with monthly HR summaries (hiring status, onboarding progress, leave/disciplinary documentation as applicable).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Education, Law, or a related field (Human Resources preferred).
- 1+ year of HR experience, preferably in education, training institutes, or other service-based organizations.
- Human Resource Management — practical knowledge of HR processes such as recordkeeping, employee life-cycle support, and policy implementation.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding — experience supporting recruitment workflows, candidate coordination, and new staff onboarding documentation.
- Employee Relations — exposure to resolving routine staff issues, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting disciplinary/appeal documentation where required.
- Communication — professional written and verbal communication for handling HR queries, coordinating interviews, and preparing HR-related documents.
- Proficiency with HR documentation and tools such as MS Excel/Word for reports, trackers, and maintaining staff databases.
- Familiarity with basic Nepal labor and employment documentation practices (e.g., appointment/contract documents and HR compliance basics).
Nice to Have
- Experience recruiting for teaching or academic support roles (teachers, coordinators, and administrative staff).
- Exposure to HR compliance in educational institutions and knowledge of school staff policy norms.
- Working knowledge of HRIS or recruitment tracking systems (or strong experience building tracker-based workflows).
