Role Overview

The Functional Consultant owns the journey from As-Is discovery to post-go-live stabilisation and is the primary liaison between client stakeholders and our delivery team. You will map client business processes to the ERP system, run fit–gap analysis, configure the system, write functional specifications our developers can build from, and drive UAT, training, and go-live. Success means the client runs their business on the ERP system — not around it — with localisation and compliance handled correctly from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering & Analysis

• Run discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews; document As-Is processes and To-Be designs.
• Perform fit–gap analysis against standard ERP capabilities and Nepal localization requirements.
• Produce BRDs, FRS/FSDs, and user stories precise enough for developers to build from without a second meeting.

Solution Design & Configuration

• Map requirements to ERP modules: Accounting, Sales, CRM, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, HR & Payroll, Project, Website/eCommerce.
• Configure workflows, approval chains, access rights and record rules, forms, and report layouts.
• Write functional design documents for customizations; coordinate with our technical developers on custom modules, integrations, and data migration strategy.
• Ensure designs respect Nepal compliance: CBMS e-billing, VAT/TDS treatment, BS fiscal periods, EPF/SSF payroll rules.

Implementation & Testing

• Build test scenarios and UAT scripts; facilitate UAT sessions and secure client sign-off.
• Deliver end-user training; produce training manuals and short videos.
• Drive data migration: mapping, cleansing, validation, and import.

Project Coordination & Support

• Act as the ERP subject matter expert for clients and internal teams.
• Work with Project Managers to hold scope, timeline, and budget.
• Provide post-go-live support, root-cause recurring issues, and optimize system usage.
• Manage change requests with clear impact assessment on scope, effort, and cost.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

Experience

• 3+ years as an ERP Functional Consultant.
• 2+ full-cycle ERP implementations, discovery through go-live.
• Strong grasp of core business processes in at least one of: manufacturing, trading/distribution, retail, or services.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Deep working knowledge of ERP modules and architecture.
• Proficiency in writing BRDs, FSDs, and process flowcharts (BPMN or similar).
• Strong Excel skills, basic SQL querying, and report generation tools.
• Familiarity with Jira, ClickUp, Trello, or MS Project.
• Working knowledge of Nepal statutory context (VAT, TDS, IRD e-billing, EPF/SSF) is a strong advantage.

Soft Skills

• Excellent written and spoken English; Nepali fluency for client workshops.
• Structured, analytical problem-solver who is comfortable pushing back on scope creep and handling difficult client conversations.
• High attention to detail; able to manage expectations across multiple stakeholders.
