Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior MEP Engineer to lead Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineering for hospitality construction projects. The role is for an experienced professional (10+ years) who can deliver safe, code-compliant designs and coordinate effectively across disciplines to support timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end MEP design coordination for hospitality buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and related utilities.
- Review consultant and contractor shop drawings, IFC/BIM outputs, and technical submittals for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Develop MEP scopes of work, technical standards, and design deliverables in line with hospitality requirements (comfort, energy efficiency, redundancy).
- Coordinate cross-functional interfaces between architectural, structural, civil, fire/life safety, and electrical/mechanical trades to avoid clashes and rework.
- Support project execution by resolving MEP technical issues during site queries, inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Oversee system planning for commissioning readiness, including pre-functional checklists, testing documentation, and handover support.
- Manage and mentor MEP engineering team members and coordinate with vendors/subcontractors to maintain quality and schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in MEP engineering, preferably within hospitality, commercial, or complex building projects.
- Automation — experienced in integrating BMS/controls for HVAC and utilities, supporting sequence-of-operation development, and coordinating control integration for MEP systems.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership — proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams, manage design reviews, and guide technical decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Coordination — strong coordination across architectural, structural, MEP trades, fire/life safety, and site execution stakeholders to deliver clash-free, constructible designs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (and 3D coordination practices) to support drawing production, reviews, and coordination.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards applicable in Nepal and international practices commonly used for hospitality projects (e.g., electrical safety, plumbing standards, HVAC design principles).
Nice to Have
- Experience delivering BMS design coordination, including controls strategy and integration planning for HVAC and lighting/energy systems.
- Exposure to commissioning support (pre-functional, functional testing, and documentation) for building systems handover.
- Familiarity with energy-efficiency design approaches such as load calculation best practices and system selection optimization.
What We Offer
- Opportunities to work on complex hospitality construction projects with high technical standards.
- Exposure to cross-disciplinary coordination across design, procurement, and site execution teams.
- A structured working environment that supports technical reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
- Employee benefits and leave policies aligned with Nepal labor practices.
