Job Description
Route2Uni primarily operates as a B2B-focused organization. However, the Education Counsellor appointed to this role may be deployed to branch offices managing B2C operations, based on eligibility and business requirements. In this role, the counsellor will work directly with students, providing comprehensive academic and career guidance.
The Education Counsellor will offer personalized one-on-one counseling to students, helping them identify suitable academic pathways aligned with their educational background, career goals, and personal preferences. The role requires a strong understanding of international education systems, university programs, and application processes.
The counsellor will also support students throughout the application journey, including documentation assistance, financial guidance, and coordination with internal teams as required. This position demands professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a student-centric approach to ensure high-quality counseling and successful student outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one academic and career counseling to students in a professional and non-judgmental manner.
- Actively listen to students’ academic, emotional, social, and behavioral concerns and provide appropriate guidance.
- Assess student profiles and recommend suitable universities, courses, and study destinations based on eligibility and preferences.
- Provide detailed guidance on academic pathways, course structures, intake timelines, and admission requirements.
- Offer guidance on financial aspects of studying abroad, including tuition fees, payment structures, and basic financial planning.
- Support students in preparing for interviews, credibility interviews, and university pre-CAS interviews, as applicable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions, counseling notes, and application progress.
- Provide students with relevant career information and counseling resources.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth application and documentation processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and ethical counseling practices.
- Maintain a personalized, student-focused approach to ensure a positive counseling experience.
Job Specification
- Bachelor’s Degree (Undergraduate)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional counseling experience
- Experience with at least one study destination: UK, Australia, USA, or Canada
Other Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- High level of empathy with strong interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organizational abilities
- Proven experience in developing effective counseling or student support plans
