Role Description The Freelance Video Editor role at Digital Genie is a full-time/project based/part-time, remote position based in Kathmandu. In this role, the Video Editor will edit raw footage into polished videos for various digital platforms, aligning with brand guidelines and project objectives. Day-to-day tasks include organizing and trimming clips, applying transitions and effects, integrating audio, and collaborating with designers and motion graphics specialists to maintain visual consistency. The Video Editor will perform basic color correction and grading, export videos in required formats, and work closely with the creative team to meet deadlines and quality standards. The role also involves reviewing feedback from stakeholders and iterating on edits to ensure that final deliverables meet client expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Video Production and Video Editing, with experience turning raw footage into cohesive, engaging stories.
- Proficiency in Video Color Grading, including color correction and enhancing visual tone to match project requirements.
- Ability to create and integrate Motion Graphics and Graphics to support storytelling and brand messaging.
- Experience with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects).
- Attention to detail, strong visual sense, and ability to follow creative briefs and brand guidelines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site with a multidisciplinary team in Kathmandu.
- Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a full-time freelance capacity.
- Relevant education or training in film, media, design, or a related field is beneficial; a portfolio demonstrating previous video editing work is required.
