Job Purpose
- Regular marketing efforts are to be made to manage correspondent banking relationships to achieve pre-set financial and non-financial goals for the assigned countries.
- Identify prospective importers for sustaining/increasing business volumes to Mashreq Network and visit them regularly to solicit business.
- Check the cross-border limits / exposures for the assigned countries / banks and report to CCR.
- Develop and execute marketing and business plans for assigned countries.
- Submit regular updates regarding the countries (Nepal & Bhutan) and business.
- Support CCR for business and staff motivation to have optimum results at all times.
Key Result Areas
- Plan and budget annual marketing strategy to chalk out the business focus.
- Review periodically existing portfolio to maintain / enhance asset quality and control risks while exploiting opportunities to maximize revenues.
- Identify and segment target market, prepare strategies and establish relationships to broad base the portfolio and pursue growth opportunities.
- Monitor economic / political outlook of the countries in order to recommend to CCR and manage cross border exposure and bank limits to ensure proper utilization.
- Position MB as a Leading Bank in the assigned countries and a Quality provider of services through its network.
- Monitor the market, competitor and their offering and update the CCR to ensure the desired market share and competitiveness.
- Regularly visit the key departments (mainly Treasury and Trade Finance) of the banks and the exporters and discuss with the CCR business opportunities or any backlogs.
- Plan and implement calling program on banks and applicants / country wise to strengthen existing relationships and identify new prospects, also prepare and submit the call reports for the regular meetings.
- Develop and recommend appropriate products and services fitting in with target markets to attract / retain customers and be competitive.
- Recommend appropriate pricing for each products / services offered by MB based on the risk associated and competition.
- Monitor the profitability for assigned countries (Nepal & Bhutan) / relationship to ensure achievement of targets and desired reciprocity.
- Backup other staff in the office and ensure continuity of business in their absence and non-availability all the time.

Problem Solving
- Strong people management due to multi-cultural work environment.
- Hands on monitoring and early rectification of any deviance in the conduct of country / account from the credit policy and update Area Manager with any adverse political / economic developments and recommend appropriate action to protect Bank’s interest.
- Resolve issues arising from banks with the concerned unit and ensure smooth conclusion.
Decision Making Authority & Responsibility
- Prepare memos and recommend transactions for approval.
- Propose new accounts and submit credit proposals to CCR.
- Responsible for identifying new target customer segments.
- Prepare periodic or as and when required country updates and call reports for MIS and KYC purpose
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Thorough knowledge of International Banking services and products with strong inter-personal skills.
- Strong marketing background with expertise in analyzing data on excel sheet
- Full knowledge of political, economic and regulatory environments and banking industry.
- Having at least 10 years’ experience of commercial/correspondent banking.
- Effective coordination and communication skills to interact with professionals of different cultural backgrounds.
- Strong knowledge in Trade Finance, treasury, investments and capital markets activities and familiar with operational issues.
