Job Description
Job SummaryThe General Manager is an executive responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and operations of Nepal. This role bridges local execution with global company objectives — overseeing engineering/delivery, HR, finance, and admin functions — while serving as the primary liaison between the Nepal branch and international leadership. The GM translates global priorities into locally executable plans, while also surfacing on-the-ground realities and opportunities back to global leadership. Success in this role requires equal comfort steering high-level strategy and getting hands-on with day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Growth
- Set and execute the annual business strategy, aligned with global goals.
- Drive business development, client relationships, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Identify new opportunities and partnerships that support company-wide growth.Operations & Finance
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, ensuring efficient resourcing, prioritization, and budgeting.
- Own the branch P&L, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Establish operational KPIs and drive continuous process improvement.People & Culture
- Lead and mentor the local leadership team; drive culture, engagement, and talent development.
- Own succession planning and support performance management across the branch.Compliance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with Nepal's labor, tax, and corporate governance regulations.
- Oversee risk management, workplace safety, and organizational compliance.Stakeholder Management
- Serve as one of the key points of contact with global leadership, reporting regularly on performance and strategic progress.
- Manage relationships with clients, government bodies, and industry stakeholders;represent Nepal externally.
Education: Bachelor's degree required (Business, Management, Engineering, or Computer Science); Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years total experience, including 5+ years in senior/general management.
- Proven P&L ownership and experience scaling multi-departmental operations.
- Background in technology, AI, or IT services strongly preferred; familiarity with software delivery models is a plus.
- Experience reporting to or coordinating with global/international teams across time zones.
