Job Description
Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Technical Furniture Designer (CNC & Production) to oversee the technical and production side of furniture manufacturing — from checking and preparing drawings to guiding CNC operators and ensuring finished pieces meet quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on factory experience and strong command of CNC and design software.
Key Responsibilities
- Check and verify technical drawings for accuracy before production
- Prepare detailed production drawings for the factory floor
- Verify cutting sizes, panel dimensions, and joinery details
- Create and prepare files for CNC machines using ArtCAM
- Guide and coordinate with CNC operators to ensure correct execution of designs
- Check first pieces/samples produced and approve for full production
- Assure overall quality control across production stages
- Troubleshoot technical issues between design and shop-floor execution
- Coordinate with the design and production teams to resolve discrepancies in drawings or materials
- Maintain accurate records of cutting lists, hardware requirements, and production files
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in modular furniture or a furniture factory setting
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Good communication skills to coordinate between design and production teams
- Proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD
- Strong working knowledge of ArtCAM for CNC file preparation
- Solid understanding of furniture detailing and technical drawing standards
- Good understanding of CNC processes and machine operations
- Sound knowledge of furniture hardware (hinges, slides, connectors, fittings, etc.)
- Strong understanding of modular furniture construction and joinery methods
