Job Description
Tokma Technologies is looking for an experienced Ride-Sharing Platform Architect & Technical Consultant to review, enhance, and optimize our existing ride-sharing platform.
The platform is already developed, so the focus of this role is not rebuilding from scratch, but improving its architecture, real-time ride operations, scalability, reliability, performance, navigation, dispatching, and overall rider/driver experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review the existing ride-sharing architecture, backend services, mobile apps, APIs, and infrastructure.
- Identify technical gaps, bottlenecks, scalability issues, and areas for improvement.
- Improve the full ride lifecycle: request, driver matching, acceptance, pickup, trip, completion, cancellation, and status synchronization.
- Optimize real-time GPS tracking, driver/rider location updates, ETA accuracy, routing, and route recalculation.
- Review and improve driver dispatching and rider-driver matching logic.
- Improve real-time communication using WebSockets, SignalR, Firebase, or similar technologies.
- Review map/navigation integrations such as Google Maps, Mapbox, or HERE.
- Improve handling of GPS loss, poor connectivity, delayed updates, app backgrounding, driver disconnections, and duplicate requests.
- Recommend improvements for backend scalability, caching, queues, databases, APIs, and event-driven architecture.
- Review ride pricing, distance/time calculation, waiting time, cancellation fees, and dynamic pricing where applicable.
- Advise on scheduled rides, multi-stop rides, driver availability, nearby-driver discovery, and geofencing.
- Work closely with backend, mobile, DevOps, QA, and product teams.
- Provide architecture recommendations, technical documentation, and a prioritized improvement roadmap.
Required Experience :
- Strong experience with ride-sharing, ride-hailing, mobility, logistics, fleet, delivery, or other real-time location-based platforms.
- Strong knowledge of distributed and real-time systems.
- Experience with GPS, geolocation, routing, navigation, geofencing, and background location tracking.
- Experience with dispatching, driver matching, real-time status updates, and WebSocket-based systems.
- Strong understanding of scalable APIs, databases, caching, queues, cloud infrastructure, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with Google Maps, Mapbox, HERE, or similar mapping platforms.
- Ability to improve an existing production system without unnecessarily replacing working components.
Preferred Experience :
Experience with any of the following is highly preferred:
- Uber/Lyft-style ride-hailing systems
- Real-time dispatch and matching algorithms
- Dynamic pricing
- Scheduled and multi-stop rides
- Driver heatmaps and demand forecasting
- Fleet management
- Experience with NEMT / healthcare transportation Would be good to have
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- .NET backend systems
- Flutter mobile applications
