Job Description
Role Description The Study Abroad Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu. The consultant will guide prospective students through the entire study abroad journey, including initial counseling, selection of suitable countries and institutions, and preparation of application documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth profile assessments to advise students on appropriate courses, universities and countries based on their academic background, career goals, and financial capability.
- Counsel students regarding study abroad opportunities and suitable destinations.
- Oversee the end-to-end application process, including document verification, SOP drafting assistance, application submission, and follow-ups with institutions.
- Provide accurate information about admissions, scholarships, fees, and visa requirements.
- Evaluate and verify student financial documentation (bank balances, income sources, loans) to ensure full compliance with destination country immigration standards prior to visa submission.
- Follow up with students and maintain strong communication throughout the process.
- Coordinate with university representatives, admissions teams, and internal departments.
- Guide students in drafting compelling Statement of Purpose (SOP), Letters of Recommendation (LOR), and Essays tailored to university and visa requirements, ensuring strict plagiarism checks
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure professional and ethical counselling.
- Conduct rigorous mock interview sessions for US/Canada F1 visa interviews and UK University credibility/CAS assessments, while guiding NZ applicants on Statement of Purpose (SOP) genuineness criteria.
- Stay updated on changing visa rules, admission criteria, and post-study work opportunities for assigned countries.
- Meet monthly/quarterly conversion targets for student enrolments and visa applications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven track record in overseas education counselling for the UK, NZ, Canada, or US markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Masters preferred).
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; ability to influence and build rapport with students and parents.
- Proficiency in managing CRM software and documentation portals (e.g., University application portals, VFS/Immigration portals).
- High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and a proactive, ethical approach to student guidance.
