Position: Head – Mining (Granite Operations)
Location: Nepal
Department: Mining Operations
Reports To: Managing Director / CEO
Role Purpose
The Head – Mining will be responsible for leading granite quarry operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining while maximizing production, quality, operational performance, and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead and manage granite mining and quarry operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and cost targets.
● Develop mine plans, production schedules, quarry development strategies, and optimize granite block recovery.
● Oversee drilling, excavation, loading, equipment utilization, manpower planning, and contractor management.
● Monitor production, operational costs, equipment productivity, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
● Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards, and health & safety requirements.
● Coordinate with Geologists, Surveyors, Maintenance, Commercial, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
● Prepare production reports, budgets, forecasts, and operational updates for management.
● Lead and mentor mining teams while supporting new quarry development and expansion projects.
Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering. Master's Degree is an added advantage.
● 18–25 years of experience in granite or dimension stone mining operations, with experience managing large quarry operations.
● First Class Mine Manager's Certificate (where applicable) will be preferred.
Skills & Competencies
● Strong expertise in granite quarry operations, mine planning, production management, and statutory compliance.
● Excellent leadership, operational planning, budgeting, contractor management, and decision-making skills.
● Strong communication, analytical, and reporting abilities.
