Job Description
About The RoleWe build custom WordPress sites for businesses across the United States, the kind that are fast, well-designed, and built to last, not pulled off a template and patched together. Good design, clean code, sensible SEO, and a genuinely smooth experience for the people using them.
We’re looking for someone senior to anchor that work: a developer who takes real ownership, sweats the details, and wants a hand in shaping how our web team builds. If you like being the person others trust to get a site right, this is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Turn Design (Figma & Mockup) into custom WordPress builds.
- Develop custom themes and reusable, well-structured components.
- Extend and customize existing themes without sacrificing performance or scalability.
- Work side by side with designers, project managers, and U.S.-based clients.
- Make sure every site holds up across screens and devices.
- Tune sites for Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and page speed.
- Integrate APIs, forms, CRMs, marketing tools, and other third-party services.
- Diagnose and improve sites that already exist.
- Mentor junior developers and help set our frontend standards.
- Push our WordPress practices and processes forward over time.
The right person, who has built a lot of WordPress, works well on their own, and communicates clearly. Specifically:
- 6+ years of WordPress experience
- Has built custom themes from scratch
- Comfortable with modern frontend development
- Can manage projects end to end with minimal guidance
- Proactive, dependable, and happy to solve problems rather than wait for instructions
- Takes real pride in the work and the details, clean code, fast loads, maintainable architecture, and builds that match the design
- You don’t just ship sites. You make them better.
- Expert-level WordPress development
- PHP

- WP Engine
- React/TypeScript
- MySQL
- TypeScript, testing (Jest/PHPUnit)

- Having a strong portfolio of custom WordPress work
- Understand branding and UI/UX, not just code
- Have worked with U.S. clients before
- Can push sites to excellent Lighthouse scores
- Know when a plugin is the right call — and when to build it yourself
- Genuinely enjoy mentoring other developers
