As a senior data engineer, you will play a critical role in this customer journey. You will work closely with internal teams and customers to design, build and deploy data solutions that capture, explore, transform and utilize data to support artificial intelligence, machine learning, and business intelligence insights.
The organization is a fast-growing startup expanding its operations in Nepal. In less than two years since its founding in the United States, it has already established teams across the LATAM region, including Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico. This is a strong opportunity for experienced engineers to join the founding team in Nepal.
The Impact You Will Have
- Be part of a team responsible for supporting new and existing customers in their data engineering needs.
- Guide customers in making the right technical decisions to achieve their goals.
- Work across multiple customer accounts, tracking and reporting progress.
- Design, build, and operationalize complex data solutions, resolve issues, apply transformations, and recommend data cleansing and quality solutions.
- Analyze data sources to assess value and recommend inclusion in analytical processes.
- Apply core data management practices, including data governance, security and quality.
- Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate end users on data products and analytic environments.
- Perform data and system analysis, assessment, and resolution for defects and incidents of moderate complexity.
- Test data movement, transformation code, and data components.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering and data product development.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Data engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
- Data science and machine learning tools (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, HPO)
- Data warehousing concepts (e.g., SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS)
- Solid understanding of end-to-end data analytics workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical concepts and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability to overlap with US hours (up to 50%).
- Intermediate leadership skills with a track record of self-motivation and continuous growth.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Nice to have: Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Nice to have: Databricks data engineering or machine learning certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
