Role Description The Senior Video Editor role at Ecstatic Minds is a full-time, on-site position based in Kathmandu. The Senior Video Editor will be responsible for editing and assembling raw video footage into polished, engaging content for a variety of formats, including commercials, brand films, social media, and corporate videos. Daily tasks include selecting and organizing clips, trimming and sequencing footage, applying transitions and effects, color grading, and incorporating sound design elements in collaboration with the production team. The role involves working closely with creative directors and clients to interpret briefs, refine storylines, and ensure that visual narratives align with brand strategy and objectives. The Senior Video Editor will also help guide junior team members, contribute to creative ideation, and maintain organized project files and workflows to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Video Editing skills, including proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Candidates should possess Video Production experience, including understanding of shooting workflows, file management, and collaboration with directors, cinematographers, and sound teams.
- Candidates should possess Video Color Grading skills, with the ability to enhance visual tone, maintain consistency, and work with tools such as DaVinci Resolve or equivalent.
- Candidates should possess Motion Graphics and basic Graphics skills to create titles, lower thirds, simple animations, and visual elements that support storytelling.
- Candidates should have a strong storytelling sense, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret creative briefs and client feedback effectively.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent time management, the ability to handle multiple projects, and a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates should have prior experience in a senior or lead video editing role, preferably within an agency or production house, and a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
- Candidates should ideally hold a degree or formal training in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
