Role Description The Laboratory Operation Assistant is a full-time hybrid role based in Kathmandu, with primary responsibilities on-site at Samaj Dental Hospital and some flexibility for work-from-home tasks as assigned. This role supports daily laboratory operations, including preparing and labeling samples, organizing instruments and materials, and ensuring cleanliness and safety in the lab environment. The Laboratory Operation Assistant will assist dental professionals with lab-related procedures, manage inventory and supplies, and coordinate with the operations team to maintain smooth workflows. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, updating logs and basic reports, and communicating clearly with clinical, administrative, and customer service staff. The Laboratory Operation Assistant is expected to follow established protocols, adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, and contribute to a reliable and patient-centered service environment.
Qualifications

  • Strong operations and operations management skills to support day-to-day laboratory workflows and inventory control.
  • Analytical skills to follow procedures accurately, review data, and identify discrepancies or issues in lab processes.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with dental staff, patients, and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety, infection control, and handling of clinical materials (prior dental or medical experience is an advantage).
  • Ability to use basic computer applications for data entry, record-keeping, and internal communication.
  • Completion of secondary education required; diploma or training in health sciences, dental technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement based in Kathmandu, with flexibility for shifts as needed.
