ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a hands-on DevOps & SRE Trainer who can help bridge the gap between learning and real-world engineering. You'll work closely with our engineers and students, helping them understand how modern infrastructure works in practice, not just in theory.
This isn't a typical classroom role. You'll work alongside trainees, troubleshoot real scenarios, and share the lessons that come from building and operating systems yourself. If you enjoy teaching and helping others grow while staying close to the technical work, we'd love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Training & Mentorship
- Design and deliver hands-on training sessions covering DevOps practices and SRE principles, and cloud infrastructure — tailored to different learning levels.
- Mentor junior engineers and students through real projects, helping them connect theory with day-to-day engineering challenges.
- Create training materials, lab exercises, and practical assessments that actually prepare people for production environments.
- Run workshops on topics like CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, monitoring, incident response, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Guide trainees through AWS, Azure, and GCP environments — helping them understand how cloud services work in real deployments.
- Prepare and coach engineers for cloud and DevOps certifications, drawing from your own certified experience.
- Provide honest, constructive feedback and track each trainee's progress over time.
- Work with the team to identify skill gaps and adjust training programs accordingly.
Technical Contribution
- Stay actively involved in engineering work. This role isn't just about teaching; it's about staying sharp.
- Contribute to internal tools, documentation, and best-practice guides that the broader team can rely on.
- Help establish and maintain training environments, sandbox labs, and demo systems across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure training content remains current and aligned with the tools, technologies, and practices used in production.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or a closely related systems engineering role.
- Solid working knowledge of Linux systems administration in production environments.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes in real production environments, not just sandbox deployments.
- Comfortable building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Argo CD.
- Proficiency in writing automation scripts in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience with multiple cloud platforms is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/S, load balancing, and TLS.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
- Understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, and their practical application in production environments.
CLOUD & DEVOPS CERTIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)
We're looking for candidates who hold at least one active certification from each category below. Holding certifications across more than one cloud provider is a strong advantage. It tells us you can move comfortably between platforms, which is exactly what our team and trainees need.
Cloud Platform Certifications (at least one required)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate or Professional
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
Systems & Infrastructure Certifications (at least one required)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
- Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC-1 or LPIC-2)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Engineer (RHCE)
- CompTIA Linux+ or CompTIA Cloud+
Candidates who hold certifications from more than one cloud provider—for example AWS and Azure, or AWS and GCP—are especially welcome. We work across environments, and your ability to move between platforms will be a real asset to both our team and the engineers you train.

EDUCATION & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience delivering technical training, mentoring, or coaching.
- Experience working across multiple cloud platforms.
