Position Overview
Jagdamba Steels Limited is seeking an experienced and dynamic Mill In Charge for the operation of the Light Section Mill. The role is responsible for managing the daily, safe, and efficient rolling operations of light steel products including Angles, Flats, Rounds, Squares, Gate Channels, and TMT Bars through Hot Charging operations.
The position focuses on achieving production targets, maintaining product quality standards, maximizing yield, minimizing downtime, and leading the mill operation team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management & Monitoring
- Oversee daily production targets including tonnage, operating speed, and downtime reduction.
- Monitor the complete rolling process from CCM (Hot Charging Conveyor) to cooling bed and finished product bundling.
- Prepare and analyze production, downtime, and performance reports for operational improvements.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure finished products meet required dimensional tolerance, straightness, grade, and surface quality standards.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, and Quality departments to resolve defects and implement corrective actions.
- Supervise setup and adjustment of rolling mills and finishing sections including straightening, cutting, and bundling.
Maintenance & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate preventive and routine maintenance activities to minimize equipment breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot machinery issues and adjust rolls and guide settings as required.
- Oversee roll pass design changes for different section products.
Safety & Team Leadership
- Enforce safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Lead, train, and mentor mill operators and crew members on operational and technical best practices.
- Manage shift scheduling, employee performance, and ensure operational accountability.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Grade 12 Pass
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position.
