Job Summary

The main role of a Senior Accounts Officer is to maintain accurate financial records and support the overall financial operations of the company. The role ensures proper management of accounting transactions, compliance with financial regulations, and the timely preparation of financial reports. The position also contributes to financial planning, analysis, and operational efficiency within the Finance Department.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and corporate billing processes efficiently.
  • Prepare payment memos, vouchers, and supporting financial documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Handle tax filings and ensure timely submission of all statutory obligations in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the company’s financial stability and operational efficiency.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing strategic input to management.
  • Ensure proper preparation and maintenance of financial statements for assigned subsidiary companies periodically.
  • Conduct regular reconciliation of financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable accounting standards, including Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS), financial regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and assessments.
  • Maintain proper documentation and systematic filing of all financial records to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to improve efficiency, profitability, and cost control.
  • Monitor and control expenses in alignment with approved budgets and company objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Handle and manage the accounts department independently with minimal supervision while ensuring the timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and improvement.
  • Support strategic financial decision-making and assist senior management in business planning.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance; Semi-qualified CA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS) and regulatory compliance framework.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities and decision- making abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record keeping.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure effectively.
