Job Description
Role Summary
Banknbox is seeking a Senior Functional Mifos Specialist / Business Analyst to act as the critical link between business needs and the technical implementation of our core banking platform. You will play a key role in translating complex banking and fintech requirements into scalable, compliant, and high-performing configurations within the Mifos X / Apache Fineract ecosystem.
This role requires strong functional expertise, deep understanding of financial systems, and hands-on experience in configuring and optimizing core banking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead workshops with stakeholders and clients to gather and refine business requirements
• Produce detailed Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) and Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
• Analyze and map “As-Is” and “To-Be” processes to support system transformation
• Configure and manage financial products (Loans, Savings, Deposits, Shares) within Mifos/Fineract
• Maintain and optimize the Chart of Accounts (COA) with accurate GL mappings
• Configure system settings including office structure, roles, and Maker-Checker workflows
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards (e.g., PCI-DSS)
• Oversee double-entry accounting logic and ensure financial data integrity
• Design, validate, and analyze financial reports (Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Portfolio-at-Risk)
• Lead UAT cycles and ensure successful delivery of functional requirements
• Collaborate with technical teams to validate custom developments
• Identify and resolve functional issues, providing root-cause analysis
Technical & Professional Requirements
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Mifos X or Apache Fineract (Senior-level exposure required)
• Strong experience in Fintech, Microfinance, or Retail Banking environments
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and banking operations
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and basic SQL
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or IT
• Strong communication skills to bridge business and technical teams
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy in financial configurations and calculations
