Job Description
Shift Timing: Evening Shift (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

The IT Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining the information technology infrastructure, computer systems, and network. The role includes overseeing software and hardware maintenance, assisting students and faculty with IT-related needs, managing classroom technology, supporting data processing for academic projects, and ensuring the smooth execution of computer-based examinations.

IT Infrastructure Management

Plan, install, and manage computer systems and networks (both wired and wireless).

Conduct regular system and network maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades.

Ensure data security, backup solutions, and IT policies are followed.

Recommend software updates, upgrades, and new installations.

Academic IT Support

Assist students with desktop publishing, data processing, and software usage for projects, reports, and assignments.

Provide technical support for application and programming software as needed for course requirements and non-credit courses.

Support faculty members during practical computer-based classes.

Classroom Technology Management

Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of netbooks and multimedia projectors in classrooms.

Recommend software updates and upgrades for netbooks.

Ensure adherence to policies regarding IT asset repair, maintenance, and disposal.

Management Aptitude Test Administration

Prepare computers and network settings for the Computer Adaptive Management Aptitude Test (CA-MAT) during student intakes.

Ensure online test server functionality and real-time accessibility for the admission committee.

Maintain and update student information before the test sessions.

Examination Support & Invigilation

Provide technical assistance during internal and Pokhara University-conducted examinations.

Assist with invigilation and ensure proper execution of computer-based exams.

Manage the collection and submission of question papers and answer sheets when assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Perform any other IT-related duties as assigned .

Provide technical support for any IT-related administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

Knowledge about Operating system, Windows 2019 server, Linux OS, VPN, VMS, AWS cloud service, Moodle LMS.

Knowledge and a good understanding of network and system infrastructure.

Minimum 1 year of work experience in a related field

Bachelor’s degree in information technology-related fields.
