Opportunity International Australia is seeking a detail‑oriented Finance and Administration Officer to support the financial management and administrative coordination of our Health programs across South Asia. This role will suit someone with strong financial and administrative skills, donor compliance experience, and a passion for international development.
This role is offered as full-time; however, we are open to considering part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

Our Health portfolio is expanding across Asia and Africa, integrating telemedicine, hybrid healthcare models, and community‑based health solutions, with a goal to reach 20 million people by 2027.
The role
Reporting to the Program Director, the Finance and Administration Officer will be based in Nepal, India or Bangladesh and will be responsible for providing high‑quality financial tracking, donor compliance, and administrative support across our Health programs.
Key responsibilities
Financial Management & Donor Compliance
- Review, reconcile, and track partner expenditure, including cash and in‑kind contributions
- Maintain complete and accurate financial documentation
- Support fund acquittals and consolidated financial reporting in line with donor requirements
- Assist with semi‑annual and annual financial reporting.
Administration & Partner Coordination
- Maintain records for contracts, MoUs, procurement, and audit trails
- Coordinate timely submission of financial deliverables from partners
- Support audits, spot checks, and partner onboarding
- Develop and share tools and templates to improve reporting quality.
Smartsheet & Digital Systems
- Manage and improve Opportunity’s Smartsheet financial tracking and dashboards
- Provide guidance and troubleshooting support to partners
- Align reporting tools with donor and internal requirements.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field
- Experience in finance roles, preferably within NGOs or international development
- Experience with donor‑funded projects (e.g. working with government and trusts and foundations)
- Strong Smartsheet skills; experience with Excel, QuickBooks, or similar systems
- Knowledge of procurement, compliance, and audit processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across cultures
- Strong administrative and computer literacy capabilities including familiarity with using web conferencing / call technologies such as Teams and Zoom
- Fluency in English (Hindi, Bengali, or Nepali an advantage).
Desirable
- Experience in microfinance or community health programs
- Familiarity with Gender Equity Diversity and Socially Inclusive (GEDSI) aligned programming
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across time zone.
