Job Summary:
The Sales Officer is responsible for driving sales and ensuring the company achieves its sales targets through effective planning and execution. The role involves managing wholesale, retail, on-trade, and modern trade channels, building strong relationships with trade partners, and ensuring timely promotions and dispatch of the company's premium imported alcoholic beverages. The Sales Officer will also play a key role in branding, merchandising, and monitoring promotional activities while providing timely market insights, competitor analysis, and performance reports. This position demands excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to achieving business goals.
Job Description:
A. Wholesale, Retail, On Trade, and Modern Trade Management
Market Visits
- Visit wholesale, retail, on-trade, and modern trade markets as per the defined itinerary to execute promotions and sales of the company's imported alcoholic beverages.
Order Placement
- Handle order placement for wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade for the company's imported alcoholic beverages.
Timely Dispatch
- Confirm the timely dispatch of the company's imported alcoholic beverages to wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade.
Collection and Recovery
- Follow up with wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade for collection/recovery of payments.
Credit Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the company’s credit policy by wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade.
Database Management
- Maintain an updated database of retailers, wholesalers, on-trade, and modern trade in the assigned area.
Development and Supervision
- Supervise, monitor, control, and develop retailers, wholesalers, on-trade, and modern trade operations.
Policy and Product Information
- Provide information about the company’s policies, imported alcoholic beverages, and services to wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade efficiently and professionally.
Complaint Handling
- Report and resolve complaints raised by wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade.
Scheme Distribution
- Ensure schemes are distributed as per the company guidelines.
B. Facilitating and Monitoring Promotional Activities for Branding
Merchandising and Displays
- Ensure proper merchandising and displays by wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade.
Placement of POPs and Giveaways
- Arrange proper placement of point-of-purchase materials (POPs) and giveaways in wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade locations.
Special Events and Promotions
- Execute special events and promotional activities effectively.
Branding Material Stock
- Maintain stock of all branding materials, ensure timely dispatch to wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade, and monitor the stock levels at distributor points.
Promotional Material Utilization
- Track the utilization of promotional materials at/from the company's distributor points.
C. Reporting Relevant Sales Data, Industry Data, and Other Information
Sales Reports
- Prepare daily sales reports and record daily sales from wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade.
Competitor and Industry Analysis
- Monitor competitor activities and provide an analysis of the industry landscape.
Credit and Stock Reports
- Prepare market credit reports and stock position reports for wholesalers, retailers, on-trade, and modern trade.
Scheme Effectiveness
- Generate scheme effectiveness reports.
Monthly Reporting
- Submit a monthly industry report summarising trends and key developments.
D. Working Conditions
- Field Work Required: This position involves extensive fieldwork, requiring visits to various market channels, including wholesale, retail, on-trade, and modern trade locations.
- Timely Reporting: Adherence to reporting schedules is essential to maintain transparency and ensure smooth operations.
Job Requirements
Minimum Educational Level and Minimum Professional Experience
Bachelor’s Degree along 3 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree along 2 years of relevant experience (Prefer specialisation in Marketing).
Required Competencies and Skills
Supervisory Skill, Communication Skill, Interpersonal Skill, Public Relation, Complaint Handling Skill, Knowledge on different areas of market, Ability of location planning, Knowledge on techniques of sales.
