Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to lead our trading company's Finance and Accounts department based in Birgunj. The ideal candidate will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensure statutory compliance, manage internal controls, and provide key financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The role also includes managing a team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the department. 

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead and supervise the Finance and Accounts team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

● Prepare and review financial statements, monthly/quarterly/yearly closing reports, and management reports.

● Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, and cash flow management.

● Ensure compliance with Nepalese tax regulations (VAT, TDS, Income Tax, Excise, etc.) and handle all statutory filings.

● Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities as required.

● Monitor and manage working capital, fund flow, and budgeting activities.

● Maintain internal controls, implement best accounting practices, and streamline processes.

● Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to support business decisions.

● Coordinate with other departments to align financial planning with business goals.

● Other job as assigned by supervisor or requirements. 

Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or Semi CA/ACCA preferred).

● Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a trading or commercial organization.

● Sound knowledge of Nepalese accounting standards, taxation laws, and statutory compliance.

● Proven experience in team leadership and financial management.

● Strong proficiency in accounting software (Finpro, Swastik), Excel, and MS Office.

● Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

● Ability to work independently and under pressure with a results-driven mindset.
