Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Shadow Teacher to support a special needs child in our school.
- Must have experience working with children with special needs.
- Should be patient, calm, and understanding in nature.
- Ability to handle emotional and behavioral challenges with care.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Nepali
- Should be able to provide one-on-one attention and support in academic and social settings.
- Available for full-day school support, including events and extracurricular activities (EVE EXPORT).
- Support the assigned student academically, emotionally, and socially during school hours
- Assist with in-class activities, assignments, and instructions
- Help the student develop appropriate classroom behavior and social skills
- Modify or adapt teaching materials to meet the student’s individual needs
- Monitor and report on the student’s progress to teachers, parents, and specialists
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, special educators, and therapists
- Encourage the student's participation in group activities and school events
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improved learning strategies
- Ensure the student’s safety and well-being throughout the school day
Job Specification
- Background in special education or psychology is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience working with children, particularly those with learning or behavioral challenges
- Knowledge of developmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia) is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work closely with students, teachers, and families
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills
