Job Description

Sales Target Achievement:

  • Supervise and drive the sales team to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

  • Ensure all team members follow daily visit plans, sales call processes, and lead conversion guidelines.

Market Development:

  • Identify and tap into new sales opportunities, including unexplored areas and untapped customer segments.

  • Assist in expanding the retail footprint by onboarding new retailers and improving distributor performance.

Team Supervision & Training:

  • Conduct regular meetings with the sales team to review performance and address any challenges.

  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to improve product knowledge, selling techniques, and customer interaction skills.

Field & Market Activities:

  • Perform regular field visits with team members across assigned territories to ensure in-market execution.

  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, promotional offers, and submit actionable insights to management.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and high-volume retailers.

  • Ensure excellent post-sale service and resolve issues such as delivery problems or product complaints promptly.

Sales Reporting & Feedback:

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports.

  • Collaborate with the sales manager to forecast demand, identify trends, and plan inventory requirements.

Job Specification

Key Requirements:

  • Industry Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of dairy products, customer buying patterns, and distribution structures in the FMCG sector.

  • Sales & Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven experience in sales pitching, closing deals, and resolving client issues.

  • Team Management:
    Ability to lead, train, and motivate sales staff to perform under pressure and meet targets consistently.

  • Analytical Skills:
    Capable of analyzing sales data, market feedback, and competitor activities to develop strategic responses.

  • Mobility:
    Must own a two-wheeler with a valid driving license to facilitate frequent market visits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of field sales or supervisory experience in the FMCG industry, preferably in dairy.

  • Familiarity with local geography and distribution networks.
