Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Lower Secondary English Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of the English language, a solid understanding of curriculum standards, and a genuine passion for teaching students aged approximately 11–14. You will be responsible for fostering a love for literature and language, improving students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, and preparing them for higher-level studies

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and academic standards
Teach core language skills: grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and speaking
Introduce students to a variety of literary genres and texts suitable for lower secondary levels
Develop and assess student progress through assignments, projects, tests, and exams
Maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and school events
Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions
Maintain accurate records of students’ academic performance and attendance
Uphold the school’s policies, values, and code of conduct

Job Specification

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
Teaching certification or license (if required by local regulations)
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at the lower secondary level
Familiarity with [insert relevant curriculum – e.g., Cambridge Lower Secondary / IB MYP / national curriculum]
Excellent command of spoken and written English
