Job Description
The Senior Counsellor will be responsible for providing in-depth counseling and guidance to students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad. This role involves advising students and their families about study destinations, application processes, visa requirements, and career prospects, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the admission process.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide students in selecting courses and universities that best match their academic background, interests, and future aspirations.
- Stay updated on global education trends, visa policies, and entry requirements for different countries (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.).
- Maintain regular follow-ups with prospective students via phone, email, and meetings.
- Assist students with application preparation, including Statement of Purpose (SOP), Letters of Recommendation (LOR), and application forms.
- Guide students through visa preparation, interview practice, and financial documents preparation.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of students’ profiles and admission status.
- Participate in seminars, webinars, fairs, and other promotional activities to attract prospective students.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partner universities and institutions.
- Collaborate with internal departments (marketing, administration, visa team) for seamless service delivery.
- Stay abreast of changes in international education policies and adjust counseling strategies accordingly.
Additional Responsibilities
- Train and mentor junior counselors as required.
- Achieve enrollment targets set by the organization.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to company policies and service standards.
Job Specification
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. A degree in Education, International Studies, Business, or related fields is an added advantage.
Experience
- At least 1 years of experience in counseling students for international education.
- Strong knowledge of admission and visa requirements for destinations such as the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and others.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
- Knowledge of international education trends and policies.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management abilities.
