Job Description

The Sales Officer will be responsible for driving sales growth by managing distributors, retailers, and wholesalers within the assigned area. The role involves achieving sales targets, ensuring effective product availability, and strengthening channel partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement territory-wise sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Regularly visit distributors, wholesalers, and retail outlets to generate demand and ensure product availability.
  • Appoint and manage distributors in uncovered or underperforming territories.
  • Ensure proper merchandising, visibility, and execution of marketing campaigns at the retail level.
  • Monitor and track secondary sales, ensuring timely collections of payments.
  • Stay updated on competitor activities, pricing, and market trends, providing actionable insights for sales improvement.
  • Prepare and submit daily market visit reports and sales summaries.
  • Organize and conduct product sampling, awareness drives, and promotional events to build brand presence.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure stock availability and timely replenishments.
  • Handle trade queries, complaints, and maintain long-term relationships with channel partners.
Job Specification

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in the food or snack segment.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of retail and wholesale trade channels.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for fieldwork and achieving sales targets.
  • Proficiency in sales reporting tools, Excel, and basic data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driving license (motorcycle or other vehicle preferred).
  • Experience in achieving numeric & weighted distribution goals will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of trade schemes, retail margins, and in-store execution.
  • Spoken proficiency in local dialects, as well as working knowledge of Hindi and English.
