Job Description

Position Overview:
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction in the dining area. They play a key role in creating a positive dining experience for guests through attentive service and a friendly attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly, present menus, and assist in making menu selections.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar.
  • Serve food and drinks in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Ensure that tables are properly set, cleaned, and maintained throughout the service.
  • Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
  • Upsell food and beverages when appropriate to maximize revenue.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area, including personal grooming and uniform standards.
  • Process bills accurately and handle payments (cash, card, digital).
  • Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and other service staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Job Specification

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic training in hospitality or customer service is an advantage.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a similar role preferred, but freshers with the right attitude and communication skills may also apply.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, cafés, or hospitality environments is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:
