Location – Palpa

About The Role

We are looking for a seasoned leader to take on the role of Head – Commercial & Supply Chain, responsible for driving end-to-end commercial strategy and supply chain excellence within the cement business. This is a critical leadership position that will directly impact cost optimization, operational efficiency, and overall business profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, distribution, and inventory management
  • Define and execute commercial strategies to optimize costs, improve margins, and enhance supply reliability
  • Drive strategic sourcing and procurement, including long-term contracts and supplier partnerships
  • Manage and optimize bulk logistics operations (road, rail, shipping) to ensure efficient material movement
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, sales, and finance leadership to align supply chain with business goals
  • Establish robust demand planning and forecasting frameworks
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and risk management initiatives
  • Identify and implement digital and process transformation initiatives (ERP, automation, analytics)
  • Ensure strong governance, compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial and supply chain team

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience, with significant leadership exposure in cement or manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record in leading commercial and supply chain functions at a senior level
  • Deep expertise in procurement, logistics, contract management, and cost optimization
  • Strong understanding of cement industry dynamics, including distribution and bulk handling
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing large teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing multi-location or large-scale operations
  • Exposure to international sourcing and supply chain networks
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L understanding
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP) and digital transformation initiatives
