Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Staff Product Designer to join and elevate our design team. This role is ideal for a seasoned designer with a proven track record of leading complex design initiatives, mentoring other designers, and driving strategic design decisions. As a Staff Product Designer at Renegade, you will own critical product areas, set design direction, and directly influence the user experience across our platform for agents and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead end-to-end design for complex, high-impact features and product areas, setting the standard for design excellence across the organization.
• Strategic Thinking: Partner with senior leadership, Product, and Engineering to define product strategy and translate business objectives into elegant design solutions.
• Mentorship & Guidance: Mentor and provide design direction to junior and mid-level designers, fostering their growth and elevating overall team capabilities.
• Systems Thinking: Own and evolve our design system, ensuring scalability, consistency, and best practices across all digital touchpoints.
• User Research & Insights: Champion user-centered design by conducting or guiding research initiatives, synthesizing insights, and advocating for user needs at all levels.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements, align vision, and drive features from concept to launch.
• Design Excellence: Create sophisticated user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. 
• Innovation & Craft: Push creative boundaries while maintaining usability and accessibility standards, exploring new interaction patterns and design solutions.
• Brand Stewardship: Ensure brand consistency across product and marketing touchpoints, contributing to visual assets that strengthen our design language.
• Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends, champion best practices, and introduce new tools and methodologies to keep the team at the forefront of design innovation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or related fields, with a demonstrated progression of increasing responsibility.
• Exceptional portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work, including complex problem-solving, user research, design systems, and measurable business impact.
• Expert proficiency in design and prototyping tools, particularly in Figma.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, accessibility standards (WCAG), and inclusive design practices.
• Proven experience designing and scaling design systems for complex product ecosystems.
• Experience working with AI tools and designing AI-powered product experiences.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop) for branding and visual design work.
• Extensive experience designing responsive web applications and mobile interfaces across platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to present, defend, and build consensus around design decisions at all organizational levels.
• Leadership capabilities including mentoring designers and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering high-quality work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Bonus: Experience in insurance, fintech, or regulated industries.
