Job Location: Primary work location is Sanothimi, Bhaktapur

Job Summary

The initiative aims to develop a comprehensive Waste Management ERP system tailored to Nepal’s municipal and operational realities, designed to digitize and streamline the entire waste value chain—from collection and transportation to processing, recovery, and reporting. The system will be built as a scalable, modular platform that integrates on-ground operations with data-driven decision-making, enabling improved efficiency, transparency, and accountability in waste management. At its core, the system will begin by strengthening backend operations for Material Recovery Facility (MRF) management and dry waste collection, ensuring accurate tracking of waste flows, better inventory control of recyclables, and optimized collection logistics. A key element in this development is the role of a Technical Coordinator, who will act as the bridge between the Operations Team and the IT Development Firm. This role is critical in translating real-world operational processes into technical requirements, ensuring that the system is practical, user-friendly, and aligned with field realities. As the system evolves, it is envisioned to expand into a fully integrated digital platform that supports municipalities, private operators, and other stakeholders by providing real-time data, traceability, compliance tracking, and performance monitoring. Ultimately, the ERP will serve not just as an operational tool, but as a strategic infrastructure for improving service delivery, enabling better planning, supporting regulatory compliance, and unlocking funding opportunities through credible impact measurement and reporting.

This role involves translating on-ground operational workflows into clear, structured technical requirements to ensure the system is practical, efficient, and aligned with real operational needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Translate operational requirements into structured technical documents, including process flows, user stories, and system logic.
  • Map end-to-end processes such as waste collection scheduling, vehicle movement, material tracking at the MRF, and reporting systems
  • Coordinate with the IT Development Team to ensure accurate understanding and implementation of requirements
  • Support requirement validation to ensure alignment between operational needs and system design
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and document feedback for system improvements
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Identify gaps between system functionality and operational requirements and suggest improvements
  • Support iterative development by providing ongoing feedback and clarification

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (freshers with strong skills may be considered)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand, map, and document workflows clearly
