Job Description
Student Visa Counselor
A Student Visa Counselor provides expert guidance to prospective international students applying for visas to study in Australia. The role focuses on ensuring students meet the Australian Student Visa (Subclass 500) requirements, including thorough assessment and processing of Genuine Student (GS) and Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criteria.
Provide end-to-end counseling on the Australian student visa process, including GS requirements and documentation.
Conduct Genuine Student interviews, guide in writing SOPs, and assess intent and financial capacity.
Assist students in preparing and reviewing required documents: COE, financials, English proficiency, health checks, OSHC, and passport.
Stay up-to-date with DHA (Department of Home Affairs) policies, visa trends, and GS/GTE compliance requirements.
Liaise with admissions & visa lodgment teams, and students to ensure timely and accurate submission.
Track application progress, manage visa outcomes, and handle any refusals or appeals with professionalism.
Requirements
Key Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of Australian visa regulations, GS/GTE framework, and education system.
Strong communication and documentation skills, especially for SOP/GTE drafting.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to assess risk factors.
Familiarity with CRICOS, PRISMS, and COE processes.
Experience with visa portals and international education platforms.
