Role Purpose

The Content Planner / Strategist will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing a data-driven content strategy that supports brand building, customer engagement, and online sales growth across all e-commerce channels. This role bridges creativity with performance marketing by ensuring content aligns with business goals, customer journeys, and conversion funnels.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and own the end-to-end content strategy aligned with e-commerce goals (traffic, conversion, retention).
  • Create monthly and quarterly content calendars for website, app, social media, email, and marketplace platforms.
  • Map content across the customer journey: awareness, consideration, conversion, and loyalty.

E-commerce & Performance Content

  • Plan product-focused content including product descriptions, category pages, landing pages, and campaign creatives.
  • Collaborate with performance marketing teams to optimize content for paid ads, SEO, and CRO.
  • Ensure content supports sales campaigns, launches, festive offers, and promotions.

Brand & Storytelling

  • Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and messaging across all content touchpoints.
  • Translate brand values and propositions into compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Work closely with designers, photographers, videographers, and copywriters to deliver cohesive content.

Data, Insights & Optimization

  • Track content performance using analytics tools (engagement, CTR, conversion, ROI).
  • Use insights to refine content themes, formats, and messaging.
  • Conduct competitor and trend analysis to keep content relevant and differentiated.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Coordinate with merchandising, category managers, CRM, and customer experience teams.
  • Align content plans with inventory, pricing, and campaign timelines.
  • Brief internal teams and external agencies clearly with creative and performance objectives.

Key Deliverables

  • Content strategy roadmap and editorial calendars
  • Campaign content plans for major sales and launches
  • SEO-optimized website and marketplace content
  • Performance reports and optimization recommendations

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in content planning/strategy, preferably in e-commerce, retail or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing funnels and e-commerce metrics
  • Experience working with SEO, social media, email, and paid media content

  • Basic understanding of design and video tools is a plus
