Role PurposeThe Content Planner / Strategist will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing a data-driven content strategy that supports brand building, customer engagement, and online sales growth across all e-commerce channels. This role bridges creativity with performance marketing by ensuring content aligns with business goals, customer journeys, and conversion funnels.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning
- Develop and own the end-to-end content strategy aligned with e-commerce goals (traffic, conversion, retention).
- Create monthly and quarterly content calendars for website, app, social media, email, and marketplace platforms.
- Map content across the customer journey: awareness, consideration, conversion, and loyalty.
- Plan product-focused content including product descriptions, category pages, landing pages, and campaign creatives.
- Collaborate with performance marketing teams to optimize content for paid ads, SEO, and CRO.
- Ensure content supports sales campaigns, launches, festive offers, and promotions.
- Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and messaging across all content touchpoints.
- Translate brand values and propositions into compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.
- Work closely with designers, photographers, videographers, and copywriters to deliver cohesive content.
- Track content performance using analytics tools (engagement, CTR, conversion, ROI).
- Use insights to refine content themes, formats, and messaging.
- Conduct competitor and trend analysis to keep content relevant and differentiated.
- Coordinate with merchandising, category managers, CRM, and customer experience teams.
- Align content plans with inventory, pricing, and campaign timelines.
- Brief internal teams and external agencies clearly with creative and performance objectives.
- Content strategy roadmap and editorial calendars

- Performance reports and optimization recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in content planning/strategy, preferably in e-commerce, retail or FMCG
- Strong understanding of digital marketing funnels and e-commerce metrics
- Experience working with SEO, social media, email, and paid media content
- Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
- Excellent storytelling and content structuring skills
- Data-driven mindset with analytical ability
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Google Analytics, Search Console
- CMS platforms (Shopify, Magento, WordPress, etc.)
- Social media & content tools (Meta, TikTok, Hootsuite, etc.)
- Basic understanding of design and video tools is a plus
