Role Purpose

The Loan Assistant Trainee supports loan Officer, Brokers and senior team members by processing and reviewing loan applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely progression through the loan cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and review loan applications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify borrower financial information, including income, assets, liabilities, and credit history.
  • Liaise with clients, loan officers, brokers and internal teams to collect and clarify documentation.
  • Update and maintain accurate loan records in CRM and lender portals.
  • Manage allocated loan files under guidance, tracking progress and escalating issues when required.
  • Provide professional and timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adhere strictly to documented procedures, SLAs, and compliance standards.
  • Support senior team members with administrative and processing tasks across the loan lifecycle.

What We Are Looking For

  • Fresher and 6 months of experience in loan processing or a related role in a financial institution.
  • Basic understanding of loan documentation, underwriting processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Exposure to Australian mortgage processes preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a team-based environment.
