We are seeking a skilled and creative EFX / VFX Artist to join our team and contribute to high-quality animation, cinematic, and video projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in visual effects creation, compositing, and collaboration within a production pipeline.
Role Overview
The EFX / VFX Artist will be responsible for creating and integrating visually compelling effects that align with the creative vision and production requirements. This role involves close collaboration with animation, lighting, and editing teams to deliver polished final outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and composite high-quality visual effects, including explosions, smoke, fire, particles, and atmospheric elements
- Perform compositing tasks such as green screen keying, rotoscoping, tracking, set extension, and cleanup
- Develop and render FX elements using Blender, After Effects, Spine, and integrate them into final shots
- Utilize Adobe After Effects for motion graphics, 2D/3D compositing, and post-production effects
- Use Foundry NukeX for node-based compositing, advanced keying, color matching, and final shot delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent VFX integration
- Optimize shots while maintaining visual quality and performance
- Follow studio pipelines, file organization standards, and version control practices
- Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently
Required Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Spine (core rigging systems, animation reuse & mixing, constraints, IK/FK, FFD concepts)
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects (2D & 3D FX creation)
- Experience with Blender (FX elements, basic simulations, rendering)
- Proficiency in NukeX for compositing and shot finalization
- Good understanding of lighting, shadows, color space, and render passes
Additional Skills (Preferred)
- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
- Autodesk Motion Builder (motion fixes)
- Basic knowledge of Maya, 3ds Max, or Houdini
- Green screen keying, rotoscoping, tracking, set extension & cleanup
- Strong knowledge of digital compositing and 3D compositing workflows
- Solid understanding of lighting, shadows, color space, and render passes
