Role overview


We are looking to hire for the position of Finance Analyst.


As the Finance Analyst, you are responsible for supporting the commercial finance process across the Australia brand portfolio, ensuring the effective use of agency resources. The role encompasses:

  1. Maintenance of our compliance/operations finance health dashboard
  2. Preparation of monthly management reports for distribution within the Australia Business
  3. The co-development and management of processes
  4. Support the up take by the business of all appropriate finance processes, templates & systems
  5. Meticulous delivery of financial process, budget management etc., across all media (including digital)


Job Duties and Responsibilities


Product & Innovation

  • Provide POV and insights on operational performance and finance best practice
  • Develop necessary templates for internal/external processes
  • Execute and drive full financial claims to be delivered back to Internal Clients, developing appropriate mechanics to measure and monitor activity
  • Present relevant documentation where required with full rationale for results
  • Design, develop and enhance finance and budgeting reports in line with business requirements
  • Regular contribution to the team on operations product/financial process enhancements
  • Delivery of all finance and process KPIs within the team
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial trackers and reporting (e.g. Budget reconciliations, audit submissions and broader operational delivery)
  • Smooth management of the financial process and integration with the broader business team


Client engagement

  • Leverage strong working relationships with key Internal Clients
  • Engage in conversations with stakeholder partners
  • Ensure there is a key point of contact for all operational requests made
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all finance-related personnel
  • Open dialogue and catch-ups with senior stakeholders as required (CFO, CMO, auditors etc.)


Commercial

  • Co-develop, and manage all finance-related procedures and systems, including operational systems, as appropriate
  • Consistently update existing operational systems/processes
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the planning and buying process (for example, loading requirements, briefing/trading, reporting & campaign tracking, campaign reconciliation, etc.) to ensure operational rigor is delivered across all channels
  • Make recommendations to business management and Internal Clients on operational improvements and/or initiatives by aspiring to deliver best-in-market processes and delivery
  • Timely and efficient delivery of all key financial reports (including Budgets, Finance reconciliations, audits etc.) in collaboration with the central finance
  • Accurate and timely finance process


People leadership Management

  • Effective management and leadership of any direct reports
  • Diarise WIPs as needed with the Finance Director to provide regular updates on Operations/Finance
  • Work with the Finance Director/Head of to deliver effective operational processes within the team
  • Quality control of all output from team members that feed into Operational processes
  • Time invested to train and develop
  • Positive 360-degree feedback

Qualification, Skills and Competencies


  • Tertiary and professional (CA, CPA, CIMA etc.) qualifications or studying towards with relevant experience. (Media background advantageous)
  • Skills & knowledge of the finance process
  • Great attention to detail
  • Problem solver with a can-do attitude who can think both tactically and strategically
  • Strong mathematical knowledge
  • Strong Excel skills (PowerQuery, SQL etc.)
  • Proactive self-starter and ability to deliver deadlines
  • A collaborator who can work as part of a fast-paced team
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compliance with all procedures and a high attention to detail
  • Experience working with budget structures and media finance
  • Strong SMD skills with a full understanding of the system is desirable
